Product Description

About

Chlorophytum Comosum, more commonly known as the Spider Plant, is a popular houseplant appreciated for its easy maintenance and vibrant green leaves. Its delicate, arching fronds, speckled with cream, yellow, or white make it an attractive addition to any indoor plant collection. Native to Southern Africa, these plants can reach up to 2 feet tall and are celebrated for their air-purifying properties.

Care Tips

1. Light: Spider plants prefer bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight may cause the leaves to scorch.

2. Watering: Water the spider plant well, but do not let the plant sit in water. Make sure the top of the soil dries out between watering.

3. Temperature: The spider plant does well in average room temperatures of 15-24°C.

4. Fertilizer: Feed the spider plant with any general-purpose houseplant fertilizer about once a month during the spring and summer. In the winter months, it’s not necessary to fertilize.

5. Potting and Repotting: Use any good potting soil to pot the spider plants. Repotting in larger pots should be done when the plant becomes root-bound – usually, once in a year.

6. Propagation: The easiest way to propagate a spider plant is through the small plantlets or spider babies that grow on the long hanging stems.

Spider plants are quite forgiving and can survive occasional over or under watering, less-than-ideal light conditions, and overall neglect, which makes them excellent choices for novice gardeners or those without a green thumb.
